Spreading Your Wings is a 110+ page comic, in both Hindi and English, about puberty, menstrual hygiene, and social norms for girls in rural India. Poor menstrual hygiene accounts for female health problems throughout life, increases school drop-out rates, and encourages sexist discrimination.

Girls are eager to learn and care for their bodies, but they need exciting accessible resources that address the rural-specific problems they face – such as the absence of toilets or bathrooms – and encourage shedding the shame associated with this stigmatized subject. Our comic helps fill this need, providing a resource they can look to privately and can share with others.
